I once I read that the habit of a quick lunch, like a snack for Londoners came from World War II and was not to be affected by the digestion time of a regular lunch, so they could go back to work immediately after lunch.

If you have decided to live in London at some point in your life, you will see that it is common to see people eating a fast food (especially tosties and sandwiches) with fresh ingredients. Today we will talk about some of these many places that serve these foods. Prices also range from £15- £10  up to £3 (the famous Meal Deal which includes food, drink and supplement - usually chips or fruit). The secret is to ask for take away as it is cheaper than eat in , which means eating on the local.

See below.

* Pret-a-manger : Very easy to find as you walk and visit the city. They do not sell processed products, just made-to-order foods like sandwiches, salads, soups, wraps and croissants. In addition, you can find single fruits, cereal bars, juices, coffees, yogurts, fruit salad, dried fruits, cakes and jams.

* Eat: Much like Pret and also serves salads, juices, wraps, sandwiches. The difference is that it also sells combo of sushis and sashimis to take away.

* Caffé Nero : Cafeteria founded in 1997, was considered in 2004 the 20th fastest growing company in the world. It offers excellent coffees, teas, cold and hot sandwiches and desserts.

* Costa Café : Known for the coffee of tasty flavor and quality. They also sell cakes, cold and hot sandwiches, have free wi-fi, comfortable sofas and are also well known for the designs made in espresso creams.

* Starbucks : Well known in Brazil, this cafe is spread all over the city and also offers several snacks. It eventually became a reference for informal and work meetings.

* Wasabi : It is a kind of Japanese fast food that allows you to set up your own dish or choose the ones already ready. Sushis, Californias, temakis and sashimis (among others) and also noodles, soups and yakisobas are some of the foods offered.

* Boots : Better known as a pharmacy, you can also find great brand perfumes, makeup and other toiletries and beauty. In addition, there are shelves with fast food and beverages, quite economical for your pocket.

* Supermarkets: You will also find many quick and cheap meals at supermarkets like Tesco, Sainsburys, Waitrose and M&S.
