For this month we have listed some interesting facts about the second most visited city in the world of 2017, London.

1. The names of some LONDON STREETS signify the activities performed there. Cloth Fair was the largest clothing fair in the time of Elisabeth I; Knightrider Street was a street run by the knights towards the Tower of London; Shoe Lane was named after the shoe format; Cheapside worked as a cheap market, just to name a few;

2. TOWER HILL , which is situated next to the Tower of London, where the prisoners were, was where most of the beheadings took place. The body was cut in four parts and the head was on display along the London Bridge;

3. The first area occupied by the Romans in London about 2000 years ago is what we now call the CITY . The queen needs permission to enter there;

4. BRITISH GUARD HATS weigh up to 700 grams, are almost one meter high and are made with the skin of Canadian black bears;

5. Five women were murdered for two months in 1888 on the streets of Whitechapel. The killings were attributed to JACK, THE RIPPER , who was never captured;

6 .BANKSY is one of the most famous graffiti artists in the world and became famous because his graffiti are protected and are in some walls of London and walls and trains of Bristol;

7. RIVER THAMES  witnessed two thousand years of invasions, fires, bombings, disease and pollution and to this day carries the secrets of the English capital to the North Sea, where the river flows. But one thing is certain: without it, London would not exist. In the past, the Thames was freezing.
